Why is our oil market leading?
Our CBD oil is a broad-spectrum distillate, with non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%). It is derived exclusively from certified organic US-grown hemp plants, which means that we never use isolates or any man-made synthetic material, and only ever use natural, plant-based CBD.
Why do we source from the US?
We source from the US for various reasons. American producers grow the best raw materials, in part because they are more experienced and technologically advanced than producers in other countries, but also because Oregon’s rich organic soils provide optimal growing conditions for hemp plants.
In addition, the American CBD market is more advanced and regulated than elsewhere, and their legal framework allows for suitable plant strains to undergo enhanced breeding.
How do we extract CBD from hemp?
Once our hemp plants have been tested, qualified for use and harvested, they undergo three key extraction processes:
1. CO2 Extraction
Pressurized carbon dioxide is passed through each plant in order to extract the desired CBD compounds and other phytochemicals. This creates a CBD concentrate (or crude oil) that is clean, high quality, and safe to consume. While most other CBD brands stop their extraction process at this stage, we go a step further and use chromatography to remove any impurities and inessentials from the end product.
2. Chromatography
We use an advanced purification system developed by RotaChrom called Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) to separate the desired compounds (such as CBD and other cannabinoids) from impurities and to remove as much THC as possible. This produces a concentrated output with non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%).
3. Distillation
The concentrate is further refined by distillation. This process allows the oil to retain minor cannabinoids and other hemp phytochemicals (which can enhance its effectiveness through the entourage effect) while removing any compounds, such as lipids, waxes, flavonoids and chlorophyll, which may negatively affect the taste, consistency and purity of the end product.
Once distilled, the oil contains 90-95% CBD and at least 5% other, high quality minor cannabinoids, such as CBG, CBC, and CBDA. This rich and potent mix of phytochemicals and cannabinoids, with non-detectable levels of THC, makes this oil a highly desirable core ingredient for CBD products.
The final step is the addition of organic MCT oil (extracted from coconut) as our carrier oil. We use MCT oil because it improves the bioavailability of CBD (the amount of CBD that enters the bloodstream) and has a mild taste.
More about Rotachrom Chromatography
At Naturecan, we use an advanced purification system developed by RotaChrom called Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) to ensure that we can deliver 100% US grown CBD oil of the highest purity and thus quality.
While traditional chromatography techniques, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and flash chromatography, are useful for extracting small amounts of purified product, they are costly (due to their use of silica) and time-consuming (owing to a more complex process), and therefore cannot be scaled effectively for medicinal use.
Furthermore, they utilize larger quantities of solvents, such as butane and ethanol, which can contaminate the extracted CBD distillate.
Thus, CPC offers an effective and efficient solution for the production of broad-spectrum CBD oil with non-detectable THC. It also offers a greener and more sustainable chromatography solution, minimizing the environmental impact.

What’s the difference between broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD oil?
The difference between broad- and full-spectrum CBD is that broad-spectrum contains non-detectable levels of THC (the intoxicating compound in the hemp plant that makes the user “high”), while full-spectrum CBD contains traceable amounts of THC, making it unsafe for use.
Full-spectrum CBD products contain a mixture of naturally-occurring plant extracts (such as terpenes and other cannabinoids) and up to 0.3% THC or more. While broad-spectrum CBD products also contain many plant compounds, they are either completely free from THC, or contain negligible (trace) amounts of it, i.e. less than 0.3%.
All our products contain non-detectable levels (<0.01%) of THC.
CBD & Safety

All our raw materials are tested and qualified for use before entering the extraction process, and all our end products then undergo rigorous independent testing to have their safety and potency guaranteed. Naturecan’s CBD oil has been independently tested by Labdoor, a company that helps customers to make informed buying choices by verifying the accuracy of label claims and testing supplements for harmful ingredients.
Our oil received the highest possible rating (A+) from Labdoor, with non-detectable levels of THC (<0.01%) and zero heavy metal (lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury) and microbial (yeast, mold, coliforms and E. coli) contamination, providing further confirmation of the integrity and quality of our product.
TÜV SÜD tested
Naturecan’s CBD oil has been certified by another independent testing partner called TÜV SÜD. With an expansive portfolio of testing and certification services, TÜV SÜD protects customers by providing safety and security solutions and inspiring trust in technological developments.
TÜV SÜD confirmed that our CBD products contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.01%). They also verified that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD and that our oil contains additional cannabinoids, such as CBG, which increase the effectiveness of the oil through the entourage effect.
Eurofins certified
Eurofins, a world-leading independent laboratory for food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products testing, has also certified Naturecan’s CBD oil. Eurofins provides customers with accurate data and expert advice to enable them to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing safe and quality products.
Eurofins tested many of our products, including the 40% CBD oil, confirming that they contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.0025%). They also provided further confirmation that our oil contains other cannabinoids like CBG, and that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD.
