FAQs
CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of around 140 known cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa plant. It is the main active ingredient in hemp-based products, including CBD oils, capsules, edibles and skin care products.
Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the controlled cannabinoid), CBD is non-intoxicating, which means that it will not make you ‘high’ or cause addiction.
All of Naturecan’s CBD products are purified to ensure they contain non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%), making them fully safe and legal for consumption.

Although research into CBD’s therapeutic potential is still limited, early evidence suggests that it may be able to help manage a range of health conditions, including:
CBD influences the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex cell-signalling system which regulates many vital bodily functions, including sleep, mood, pain and appetite. CBD is believed to support the ECS in maintaining a balanced and healthy internal state (or homeostasis).

In the UK, consumer CBD is legal provided that it is derived from approved industrial hemp plants containing less than 0.2% THC.
Naturecan’s CBD oils all contain non-detectable THC (0.01%), which is 20 times lower than the legal limit.
All our CBD products undergo strict testing with independent laboratories to ensure that THC is non-detectable. You can find Certificates of Analysis on all our CBD product pages as proof of third-party testing.
To take CBD oil, place a few drops under your tongue and hold them there for one minute before swallowing. This allows the CBD to be fully absorbed into the bloodstream via the oral mucosa. CBD oil is one of the fastest-acting ways to take CBD, and its effects can usually be felt within 15-30 minutes.
Dosage differs with each person, depending on a range of factors including weight, height, age, and reasons for taking CBD. The FSA recommends a maximum total daily CBD dose of 70mg. This includes any additional products, so please ensure that you never exceed this amount. While following this guidance, you can manage your daily dosage based on what works best for you, and combine various CBD products if desired.

CBD is a natural compound that affects everyone differently. While there have been no serious reported side-effects of CBD consumption, it is recommended that you start by consuming low doses and gradually increase the amount if you do not experience side-effects.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), “CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile... There is no evidence of recreational use of CBD, or any public health-related problems”.
Some uncommon side-effects of CBD include a dry mouth, reduced blood pressure, and light-headedness. These usually occur as a result of exceeding the recommended daily dosage or using low quality products. If you are taking any other medication in conjunction with CBD, consult your doctor to confirm whether this could cause adverse side-effects.

CBD Guide
There are many different ways to take CBD. The most popular products include CBD capsules, oil drops, balms, edibles and vape juice.
1. CBD capsules
CBD capsules are a good place to start for people new to CBD, as they are easy to take and offer a simple way to manage your dosage. Naturecan offers three varieties of CBD capsules (all with 10mg CBD per capsule): CBD Oil Softgels, CBD Softgels with Vitamin C, and Micellar CBD Capsules. As CBD capsules pass through the digestive system before entering the bloodstream, they usually take 1-2 hours to work. These effects can last for 2-8 hours.
2. CBD oil drops
CBD oil drops have higher bioavailability than most other means of administration, which means that they deliver more CBD into the bloodstream. CBD oil is one of the fastest-acting products: it starts working within 15-30 mins, and the effects can last for 2-8 hours. Naturecan offers CBD oils in six different strengths, so you can find the perfect concentration for your needs.
3. CBD balms
While CBD oils and CBD capsules work systemically to affect the whole body, CBD balms and other CBD skincare products allow the user to target problem areas, such as sore joints or muscles, and keep potential CBD benefits localised to the point where they are most needed.
4. CBD edibles
CBD snacks are a delicious way to get your daily dose of CBD. Like CBD capsules, edibles need to be digested before entering the bloodstream, which means that it can take 1-2 hours for the CBD to take effect. Popular CBD edibles include CBD gummies, CBD cookies, CBD brownies, CBD nut butters, and CBD chocolates.
5. CBD vapes
CBD vapes are an effective way to absorb CBD into the body. The bioavailability is higher than other routes of administration, including CBD oils and skin creams. This means that CBD can enter into the bloodstream faster and its effects can be felt sooner. While vape products are seen as a reduced risk alternative for smokers, we would not encourage non-smokers to take up vaping.
The price of CBD oil varies depending on many factors, including the purity and strength of the oil, and the costs of cultivation and extraction. For example, in the UK, the cost of CBD oils can range from £10 to £300.
The price of Naturecan’s CBD products differs in large part according to the number of milligrams (mg) of CBD they contain. On average, the higher the concentration of CBD in a product, the lower the price per milligram, and the higher the overall price.
For example, a 10ml bottle of 5% CBD oil (500mg CBD) costs £0.06 per mg and £30 overall, whereas a 10ml bottle of 40% CBD oil (4000mg CBD) costs £0.04 per mg and £150 overall. So, while the 40% CBD oil is more expensive than the 5%, it offers more value for money in the long-term and will last longer as fewer drops will be needed to reach your daily dosage.
The table below shows the price of CBD oil per mg for various strengths and volumes.
When it comes to optimising your daily CBD intake, it’s less about choosing the right oil strength and more about calculating the right amount of CBD to take per day.
For example, the table below shows that two drops of 5% CBD oil contain as much CBD as one drop of 10% CBD oil (approximately 4 mg of CBD). Thus, while the 10% oil is twice as strong as the 5%, you can get exactly the same dosage of CBD simply by doubling the number of drops you take.

Yes, CBD is safe for pets. All mammals have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that keeps the body in a balanced state by regulating essential psychological and physiological functions. CBD is thought to support the ECS in a similar way for both animals and humans, with no adverse effects.

The CBD industry is still young and under-regulated. As a result, CBD products can vary enormously in terms of both quality and safety, and label claims regarding product CBD and THC levels can often be inaccurate. Here are five key things to look for when buying CBD products:
- A trusted, reputable brand
- Plant-based CBD (no added synthetic material)
- Safe THC content
- Proof of regular third-party testing (e.g. a certificate of analysis)
- CBD that has been extracted from approved hemp (ideally organic, US-grown)
Naturecan’s CBD oil has non-detectable levels of THC and is derived exclusively from certified organic US-grown hemp plants. We never use any synthetic materials and only ever use natural, plant-based CBD. Furthermore, all our products undergo strict testing by independent laboratories to guarantee their safety and quality, and our Certificates of Analysis are easily accessible for full transparency.
All Naturecan products are manufactured with industry-leading technology and undergo rigorous third-party testing to ensure product quality, customer safety, and supply chain transparency.
Naturecan's CBD oil is a broad-spectrum distillate, which means that it contains a range of naturally occurring compounds from the hemp plant (including minor cannabinoids) and non-detectable levels of THC – so you can be rest assured of its quality, potency and safety.
Five key reasons why Naturecan is different:
1. Our manufacturer, IAH Oregon, was the first licensed hemp and cannabis producer on the West Coast of the USA. They use the most advanced technology in the industry for their extraction process, and benefit from Oregon's rich organic soils, which provide optimal growing conditions for hemp plants.
2. Our extraction process involves three main stages: supercritical CO² extraction, chromatographic purification (by RotaChrom), and distillation. During this process, we remove as much THC from the oil as possible (non-detectable at 0.01%) along with all compounds that may negatively affect the taste, consistency and purity of the end product (such as lipids, waxes, flavonoids and chlorophyll), while maximising the concentration of CBD and other essential cannabinoids.
3. Our CBD is obtained exclusively from organic hemp plants. We never use isolates or any man-made synthetic material– only ever natural, plant-based CBD. Our oil contains a rich mix of cannabinoids and other natural hemp compound that have the potential to produce an “entourage effect” – a phenomenon whereby the overall effectiveness of the oil is enhanced due to an interaction between its components.
4. We use organic MCT oil (extracted from coconut) as our carrier oil because it improves the bioavailability of CBD (the amount of CBD that enters the bloodstream) and has a mild taste.
5. We can guarantee the purity of our oil based on our rigorous testing protocols. All our raw materials are tested and qualified for use before entering the extraction process, and our end products then undergo rigorous independent testing by labs such as TÜV SÜD to have their safety and potency guaranteed. This process consists of at least six stages, and includes tests for CBD potency, pesticides, heavy metals, microbial contamination and residual solvents. Labdoor, one of the largest independent testing centres from the USA, awards our CBD an A+.

WHAT IS THC?
THC (or tetrahydrocannabinol) is a cannabinoid found in various species of the cannabis plant. It is the plant’s primary intoxicating compound, which means that it makes the user ‘high’. THC produces its mind-altering effects by binding to the brain’s cannabinoid receptors and disrupting various mental and physical...
